The Prime Minister of Lebanon was supported in his call for the immediate implementation of UN resolution 1701 by posting it in X, Joseph Borel, vice-president of the European Commission.
In detail he stated that:

What is UN Resolution 1701
Resolution 1701, which was adopted by the Security Council in 2006, was intended to end that year’s war between Israel and Hezbollah. It calls for an end to hostilities, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon and the creation of a demilitarized zone.
