A hostage was found alive and rescued by the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), it was announced on Tuesday. This is the 52-year-old Bedouin Quat Farhan al Qadi as reported by the envoy of SKAI in Jerusalem Stavros Ioannidis. Qadi was held hostage for 326 days, and his health is in good condition.

The hostage was located by the Shayetet 13 unit, the commandos of the Israeli navy, in a tunnel. The tunnel it was detected in is located to Han Younis.

An estimated 104 of the total of 251 hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza. Thirty-four of the 104 appear to be dead.

A brother of the rescued hostage told Jewish media outside the medical center where Qadi is being held that he is overjoyed.

IDF spokesman Vice Admiral Daniel Hagari commented that the operation to rescue the al-Qadi hostage was “brave and complex” and based on accurate intelligence.



“I can’t explain this feelingit’s even better than the arrival of a new baby,” he said. “Thank God, we are grateful to everyone and hope to see him healthy soon. We are very happy, very happy to hear this news.”

A video circulating on social media shows members of Al Qadi’s family running into the hospital’s halls to greet him.
