Ukraine: Fire in Zaporizhia – Zelensky blames Moscow for nuclear terrorism

by

A fire broke out late at night at the largest nuclear plant in Europe, in Zaporizhia, Ukraine, which was previously at the center of the Russian bombing, while a fire broke out.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky – who had contacts with US President Biden – has accused Russia of “nuclear terrorism”, saying it wanted to “repeat” the Chernobyl disaster.

“We warn the world that no country other than Russia has ever opened fire on nuclear plants. It is the first time in our history, the first time in the history of mankind. This terrorist state is now resorting to nuclear terrorism.” complained Mr. Zelensky

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian emergency services announced that the fire at the nuclear plant broke out in a building used for training of workers, outside the perimeter of the facility.

The plant’s manager said no radioactive leaks were detected from any of the reactors.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has called for an immediate ceasefire at the plant.

However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that the Ukrainian Atomic Energy Commission had not identified “any change” in the level of radioactivity at the nuclear plant.
