The Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) announced today that soldiers shot and killed two “terrorists” in the West Bank.

These are two separate incidents that took place overnight: in one, an attempted attack on a Jewish settlement near Hebron was reported, and in the other, a car driver – who exploded outside a gas station – threatened soldiers. According to the Red Star of David (also the equivalent Red Cross in Israel), two men were wounded by bullets.

“Terrorists tried to carjack a guard at the entrance to the Karmei Tzur community and infiltrated inside,” according to the IDF spokesman’s briefing, which refers to a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank. Soldiers rushed to the scene and killed an attacker who opened fire on them, while they are looking for his accomplices, the same source reports.

In the other incident, a car burst into flames and exploded outside a gas station. Soldiers deployed to the scene “shot and killed the terrorist who got out of the car and tried to attack them.”

The Israeli military emphasizes that it remains unclear whether the two incidents are connected.

Violence in the occupied West Bank has escalated since the start of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, triggered by an unprecedented attack launched by Hamas on October 7 against Israel.
