Was Vladimir Putin joking or not when he said he prefers Kamala Harris to Donald Trump? The close associate of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov made a “sibyl” statement on the matter…

Asked on Friday whether President Vladimir Putin’s “statement of support” for the US presidential candidate was serious or a joke, the Kremlin spokesman said the world would have to find out for itself. “People must judge for themselves,” he noted.

Putin said Thursday that he wants Harris to win the November election, citing her “infectious” laugh as a reason to favor her over Trump. “American affairs cannot be a concern at the top of the Russian president’s agenda,” Peskov said.

The Kremlin also accused the United States on Friday of exerting unacceptable pressure on Russian media after the US Justice Department charged Russian journalist Dmitry Simes and his wife with plans to violate US sanctions.

Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Washington is trying to ensure that Moscow’s perspective on world affairs is not available to the people.

It is noted that on Thursday the White House called on Vladimir Putin to “stop meddling” in the US presidential election after the Russian president’s statement about Harris.
