Kiev has warned Tehran through its envoy who was called in to receive a stern warning about possible deliveries of Iranian missiles to Russia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced today that it has invited the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires Sahiar Amuzhegar to express his deep concern about reports that Iran may be supplying Russia with ballistic missiles.
The ministry says in its Telegram announcement that Amugezar received stern warning, that confirming the surrenders would have “catastrophic and irreparable consequences” for bilateral relations.
The Kremlin did not deny, but did not confirm, today the information according to which Iran has delivered short-range ballistic missiles to Russia, commenting that Moscow and Tehran are partners and are developing a dialogue in all areas.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Iran has sent short-range ballistic missiles to Russia, citing unnamed US and European officials.
Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, commented today that he had been informed of the article, but added that “this kind of information is not always true.”
