Addressing the citizens of the Russian-speaking areas of Donbass, Mr. Zelensky called on them to fight for their rights and freedoms and called on them to protect themselves from Russia.
The Ukrainian president then announced that he had discussed with his US counterpart Joe Biden the financial support of Washington in Kyiv and the sanctions against Moscow.
They reportedly discussed, among other things, the possibility of supplying eastern fighter jets to Ukraine from Poland.
“As part of the ongoing dialogue, I had a new conversation with @POTUS (s.s. the president of the USA). “The agenda included security issues, financial support to Ukraine and the continuation of sanctions against Russia,” Zelensky said via Twitter.
The White House confirmed the conversation, explaining that it took place yesterday Saturday and lasted about 30 minutes.
