Operation Nostos 5 was successfully completed, as Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias announced on Twitter.
In his post, he states that the 34 people, accompanied by the Consul General in Odessa D. Dohtsi and officials of the Consulate General of Greece, crossed the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, where a ladder was waiting for them from the Greek Embassy in Bucharest.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued an announcement:
“Operation Nostos 5, the evacuation of a total of 34 people (Greek citizens, members of their families, as well as Filipino sailors on a Greek-owned ship) from Odessa, was successfully completed.
The above, who were accompanied by the Consul General in Odessa, Dimitris Dohtsis, and officials of the Consulate General, crossed the Ukrainian-Moldavian border, where a ladder from the Greek Embassy in Bucharest was waiting for them.
“The Consul General, as well as the staff of the Consulate General, due to the deteriorating security situation in Ukraine, will continue to work from Galati, Romania.”
