He is recovering in polls Benjamin Netanyahu after the Israeli attacks against it Hezbollah.

Netanyahu’s popularity, which took a big hit after Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, appears to have been boosted by his country’s military successes against Hezbollah, according to a poll.

The survey, carried out for Channel 12, showed that Netanyahu’s Likud party would win more seats than any other if a general election were held.

He currently leads a fragile coalition of ultra-nationalist and ultra-Orthodox parties.

Netanyahu is also considered a more suitable prime minister than his rival, the centrist opposition leader Yair Lapid: He gathers 38% against 27% who prefer Lapid.

The so-called “Mr Security” suffered a blow to his popularity after the October 7 attacks, the deadliest day in Israel’s history.

Since then, thousands have taken to the streets of Israel to protest the government’s failure to bring back the hostages.

However, the recent attack on Hezbollah appears to have strengthened Netanyahu’s power, at least temporarily, the BBC notes.
