THE israeli army (idf) stated today that it hit its fighters Hezbollah inside a mosque in the south Lebanonin the first such strike since the exchange of fire on the border between the Islamic group and the Israeli army began about a year ago.

“Yesterday, at night… the air force hit Hezbollah terrorists who were operating in a command center located inside a mosque, next to the hospital Salah Ghadurin southern Lebanon,” as announced by the Israeli army.

According to the statement, “the command center was used by Hezbollah terrorists to plan and execute terrorist attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel.

He points out, however, that before the attack, notices were sent to residents and talks were held with significant parts of the villages – in which the IDF found Hezbollah using hospitals in violation of the laws of armed conflict – demanding an immediate end to all military activity from the hospitals.

“The IDF will continue to work to protect the citizens of the State of Israel,” the statement concluded.
