Crews are working to clear roads of debris, repair infrastructure and restore critical services
At least 16 people died after his disastrous passing Hurricane Milton from Florida with rescue crews continuing their work in flooded areas but also in those that have been filled with debris.
Although the hurricane has moved away from the state into the Atlantic Ocean, authorities are warning of possible flooding in the coming days.
More than two million homes and businesses remain without power and thousands of people have been rescued from flooded areas.

430 rescues in Pinellas County
In Pinellas County, Florida, crews made a series of flood rescues, including an apartment complex where 430 people were rescued as water reached the second floor.
Meanwhile, crews are working to clear roads, repair infrastructure and restore critical services after the county was hit, Ashley Giovannetti, the county’s emergency management public information officer, told CNN.
Florida officials warn of rogue contractors
At the same time, authorities are urging residents to be on the lookout for rogue contractors who may be taking advantage of the needs of people affected by the hurricane.
“Beware of contractors who take details and do little or no work,” said Pinellas County Consumer Protection Advisory
“Avoid doing business with anyone asking for door-to-door work. Take the opportunity to check them out first,” he advises.
Authorities also warned residents to be wary of contractors who ask for an advance payment for services or insist extensive repairs do not require a permit.
