US Vice President Kamala Harris, Democratic presidential candidate, released today a letter from her personal physician certifying that good state of health, that makes her eligible for the presidency, in an attempt to highlight the contrast with her rival Donald Trump.

In a statement released by the White House, the vice president’s physician, Joshua Simmons, says that the vice president’s most recent medical tests, which took place in April, were “normal.”

Meanwhile, Simmons reports that Harris maintains an active lifestyle, eats a “very healthy diet” despite her busy schedule, suffers from seasonal allergies and occasional hives, doesn’t smoke and drinks alcohol occasionally.

“She herself has the physical and mental condition necessary for the successful performance of presidential duties, including the responsibility of exercising executive powers, the duties of the head of state, but also the responsible commander-in-chief of the armed forces“, says the doctor’s letter.

Harris is 59 years old, while Mr Trump 78 years oldas they contest the US presidential election.

Harris’ campaign has sought to emphasize Trump’s age as he became the oldest candidate for the US presidency after the president withdrew his candidacy. Joe Biden who is 81 years old and followed his disappointing appearance in the summer, in a phone battle with Trump.
