The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Belgium have pledged to deliver more than 60 US-made F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine
Ukraine expects the delivery in the near future of six F-16 fighter jets promised by Norway, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said on Thursday after a bilateral meeting with his Norwegian counterpart Bjorn Arild Gram at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Belgium have collectively pledged to deliver more than 60 US-made F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, undertaking the training of Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel.
The first fighter jets from the Netherlands are already in Ukraine, while six F-16s are expected to be delivered by the end of the year.
On Thursday, the German government announced that it had delivered 20 more Marder armored fighting vehicles (IFVs) to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian armed forces also recently received eight Leopard 1 tanks, an IRIS-T SLM and an IRIS-T SLS anti-aircraft system, six Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled guns and 24,000 155mm artillery shells, according to the German government’s updated list of the military aid it has provided to Ukraine.
