The British Ministry of Defense spoke about the ongoing battles northwest of Kiev in a new update on Wednesday morning, noting, however, that the Russian forces are failing to make any significant progress.

It is also reported that the cities of Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and Mariupol remain surrounded by Russian forces and continue to be heavily bombed by Russians.

Finally, the British Ministry notes that “the Ukrainian air defense seems to have had a significant success against Russian modern fighter jets, most likely preventing them from achieving some degree of air control.”

The British Minister of Transport, Grand Saps, said yesterday that any Russian aircraft entering the airspace of the United Kingdom will now be considered as committing a “criminal offense”.

“I have made it a criminal offense for any Russian aircraft to enter UK airspace, and now a government of His Majesty will be able to seize these aircraft,” the minister said via Twitter.
