Israeli sources said the Israeli strike also hit four S-300 air defense arrays strategically located protecting Tehran and its nuclear and energy facilities
A powerful blow was achieved by the Israeli attack on critical equipment of Iran’s ballistic missile program, according to a report by Axios.
The destruction of the equipment severely hampers Iran’s ability to renew its missile stockpile and could prevent it from further mass missile attacks against Israel, the sources said.
Specifically, the sources said Israel hit 12 “planetary mixers” used to produce solid fuel for long-range ballistic missiles, which make up the bulk of Iran’s missile arsenal.
A senior US official confirmed that the strike hit Iran’s missile production capability.
At the same time, the Israeli sources claimed that this equipment is highly sophisticated and Iran cannot produce it alone and must buy it from China. According to the same sources, his rehabilitation may take at least a year.
While Iran still has a large stockpile of ballistic missiles, Israeli sources say that Tehran’s inability to produce new ones will also limit its ability to replenish the ballistic missile stockpiles of its proxies, such as Hezbollah and the Houthis.
The Israeli sources said the strike also hit four S-300 air defense arrays strategically located protecting Tehran and nuclear and energy facilities in Iran.
The Iranian military said in a statement that the Israeli attack was carried out from Iraqi airspace and added that several radar systems suffered limited damage and are in the process of being repaired.
Iran’s military did not report damage to missile or drone production facilities and said Iran reserved the right to respond.
Israeli sources confirmed that the strikes were carried out from Syrian and Iraqi airspace, some of them near the Iraqi border with Iran.
Also, the sources said the Israeli air force attacked a drone manufacturing plant and carried out a “symbolic” strike on a facility in the town of Parchin that was previously used for nuclear weapons research and development.
