Zelensky said Russia and North Korea are close to a deal for North Koreans to work at Russian weapons factories
The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky said today that Russia is in the process of agreeing with North Korea to transfer “a large number of citizens” to work in Russian weapons factories.
Zelensky stressed that Moscow confirmed the participation of North Korean soldiers in the war in Ukraine to Western allies of Kiev through intelligence communication channels, stressing that Russia is testing the Western reaction and will involve more troops if the Western reaction is not strong.
At the same time, he said he was surprised by China’s “silence” regarding the deployment of North Korean troops in the war in Ukraine by the Russian side.
8,000 North Koreans in Kursk
At the same time, the United States states that according to information it has received “at this time” there are 8,000 North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region of RussiaDeputy US Ambassador to the United Nations Robert Wood told the Security Council on Thursday.
“I have a very respectful question for my Russian colleague: does Russia maintain that there are no DPRK troops in Russia?” Wood said, referring to North Korea’s official name – the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
The Russian representative to the 15-member Security Council did not respond.
