OR Liz Cheneythe most prominent Republican who has long stood up to the Donald Trumptoday accused the former president of being a “vindictive and barbaric” dictator, after the Republican presidential candidate claimed Cheney would be less bellicose if the barrels of guns were aimed at her.

The Republican candidate made the comments in an interview with far-right host Tucker Carlson in Geddal, Arizona.

The former US president called Cheney an “extreme war hawk” and said: “Let’s have her hold a gun against the barrels of nine guns firing at her. Let’s see how it would feel. You know, with guns pointed at her,” Trump said, referring to the image of a firing squad.

Cheney, who along with another Republican member of Congress was a member of the House committee charged with investigating the January 6, 2021 invasion of Capitol Hill, responded by posting on X.
