Heavy downpour resulted in flooded streets, single-storey houses and cars were swept away. An evacuation operation was organized at a department store in the area, whose customers could not reach the exit.
In Altarelo, firefighters helped two citizens with special needs to leave their house, which had been flooded. A flood overflowed and the water caused great damage to all the surrounding agricultural lands. Many cars were swept away by the flow of water to the beach of Katani and its wider area.
