The investigation was launched after Sabrina Carpenter’s controversial “Feather” video, which included provocative scenes filmed in a church
THE Monsignor Jamie Gigantiellohead of the Brooklyn church where pop star Sabrina Carpenter filmed provocative scenes for her music video, has been removed from his post after an investigation revealed multiple instances of mismanagement, according to the Associated Press.
The investigation began after the controversial video of “Feather“, which included provocative scenes filmed in the church. In addition to the video scandal, the investigation revealed that Gigantiello made unauthorized financial transfers, including $1.9 million to accounts linked to Frank Carone, his former chief of staff mayor of New York, Eric Adams, and misuse of church money for personal expenses.
As a result, Gigantiello was removed from his administrative and priestly duties, while Bishop Robert Brennan appointed Bishop Witold Mroziewski to oversee the parish. Gigantiello is also under investigation for his financial dealings, although neither he nor Carone have been charged with criminal wrongdoing. The uproar caused by the music video did not go unnoticed by Carpenter, who made a humorous comment about the situation during a concert.
“Hell, now what?” he told the Manhattan crowd. “Should we talk about how I reported the mayor?»
