Negotiations with the US “simply confirmed North Korea’s view that Washington’s hostile policy remains unchanged”
The complicated situation on the Korean peninsula could lead to a “more devastating nuclear war,” North Korean President Kim Jong Un said, as reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
“Never before have the parties to the conflict on the Korean Peninsula found themselves in such a dangerous and intense confrontation, when the situation could turn into a more destructive nuclear war at any moment,” Kim Jong-un threatened at the opening of an exhibition on defense in Pyongyang. He added that the negotiations with the US “simply confirmed North Korea’s view that Washington’s hostile policy remains unchanged.”
Appearing to drop hints about Ukraine and South Korea, the North Korean president noted that the US is increasing the pressure and level of provocation by deploying its “huge military means” and the forces of its allies, expanding its system of military alliances by sharing nuclear weapons “in order to maintain and strengthen their dominance over satellite countries” and prevent the rising power of the DPRK; which becomes an “overwhelming challenge to its hegemonic politics”.
