Nineteen ambulances with their sirens heading towards the Ukrainian military base in Yavoriv near the Polish border, an eyewitness told Reuters after local officials said the facility had been hit by a Russian airstrike.
Seven other ambulances were seen heading to the facility after the attack.
It is the westernmost point of Ukraine that was earlier hit by an air strike, as announced by the Lviv regional military administration.
“The attackers carried out an air strike on the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security. “According to the first information, they fired eight rockets,” the administration said in a statement.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a Ukrainian military base, Anton Mironovich, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Armed Forces Academy, was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency.
“According to preliminary data, there are no dead, but information about the injured is being clarified,” Mirononovic added.
