This is first official reaction of Turkish government after this announcement.
Tsavousoglou stated that “the imam of the mosque did not confirm the bombing” of the building. A member of the city’s Turkish community also denied yesterday that the mosque had been hit by the Russian army.
“He said rockets and rockets hit the area,” the Turkish foreign minister said, acknowledging that “contact” with the community had been “lost” due to the “collapse of infrastructure”.
“We have shared this information with Russia,” he added.
“We sent a bus to the area, but it could not enter the city,” he added.
This is the first time that the Turkish government has confirmed the presence of its citizens in this mosque, without specifying their number.
