It is not the first time in recent days that Trump has “tickled” the government of Justin Trudeau, who is facing growing calls to resign
The president-elect of the United States made a proposal today that exploded like a bomb: He proposed that Canada become a state of the United States, calling it “a wonderful idea.”
“No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year. It doesn’t make sense! Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it’s a great idea. 51st State!!!” he wrote on his social media platform.
According to Politico, this is not the first time in recent days that Trump has “tickled” Canada and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government, which was rocked by the bombshell resignation of Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.

“The Great State of Canada is stunned that the Finance Minister has resigned or been fired from her position,” Trump tweeted on Monday. “Her behavior has been completely toxic and not at all conducive to making deals that are good for the very unhappy citizens of Canada. It will not be missed!!!!” had commented.
But in late November, after meeting with the Canadian prime minister at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump began calling Trudeau the “Governor” of the “Great State of Canada.”
Joke. Or maybe not?
