The former US president Bill Clintonaged 78, was admitted yesterday Monday to hospital of Washington with a fever, the deputy director of his office reported via X.

“(former) President Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Hospital this afternoon for tests and monitoring after developing a fever. His morale is high and he is deeply grateful for the excellent care he is receiving,” explained Angel Urenia.

President of the USA from 1993 to 2001, Bill Clinton had already been hospitalized in the past, notably in 2021, when a urinary tract infection turned into sepsis.

In 2004 he underwent quadruple coronary bypass surgery to free four blocked arteries; in 2010 angioplasty.

Bill Clinton, a Democratic politician, an excellent orator, was elected to the White House in the early 1990s. His two presidential terms were characterized by economic prosperity for the US, but they were marred by scandals, such as the infamous Monica Lewinsky affair.

He had a notable presence in American public life after his two terms as president, thanks to his foundation’s humanitarian initiatives or undertaking high-level diplomatic missions, but he was increasingly overshadowed by his wife.

Hillary Clinton, the one-time US first lady, served as secretary of state before becoming the 2016 Democratic nominee for the White House.
