After four rounds of talks between Russia and Ukraine to end the war that started on February 24, no major breakthroughs have been announced. On Tuesday (15), however, President Volodymyr Zelensky made the first sign that Ukraine could give up joining NATO.
The country’s non-adherence to the US-led Western military alliance is one of the main conditions for the Vladimir Putin government to end the war. In this Wednesday’s episode (16), Café da Manhã talks with diplomat Rubens Barbosa, former Brazilian ambassador to the United States and president of the Institute of International Relations and Foreign Trade. He assesses the progress of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine at the same time that the violence continues and points out which paths may be for peace in the region.
