US military aircraft C-17 are flying flights, carrying immigrants outside the country’s borders at the behest of President Donald Trump and the Pentagon is preparing to send even more troops to the southern border, including the 82nd Air Force.

On the first day of his term, Trump declared the southern borders in an emergency, commissioning the US Army to help in their safety, signed an executive decree to terminate the automatic citizenship for the children of irregular migrants.

The January 20 executive decree ordered the Pentagon to send as many troops to obtain “complete operational control of the United States southern border”.

“The expulsion flights have begun,” White House spokesman Carolin Levit said in a post on X.

On Friday, two US military aircraft, each with about 80 immigrants, flew from the United States to Guatemala, a US official told reporters.

Earlier this week, the Trump government said the US military would send 1,500 additional troops to the border with Mexico.

US officials told Reuters that the army is preparing to send a second wave of troops to the border with Mexico next week, which will probably include troops from the 82nd airborne. The official said the number of troops may be thousands, but no official decision was made.
