Strong glow in Japan at the time of the 7.4 magnitude earthquake – Breathtaking videos

by

The videos released from their strongest earthquake are breathtaking 7.4 on the Richter scale which shook Japan on Wednesday and cost the lives of four people.

The quake, which was initially estimated to have a magnitude of 7.3 but was later revised to 7.4 by the Japan Meteorological and Seismological Service, was recorded at 23:36 (local time) at sea off Fukushima Prefecture. The focal depth was 60 km.

The video published by the Guardian has also caused a special sensation and shows a very strong glow illuminating the night sky of japan at the time of the great earthquake.

The quake caused severe problems as parts of building facades collapsed on the streets, leaving tens of thousands of households without electricity for hours.

Many transport links, roads and railways, were cut in half in the northeastern part of the archipelago.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said the death toll from the quake had risen to four, with another 107 injured, several seriously. He also stressed that the authorities will remain vigilant for the next 48 to 72 hours for the possibility of strong aftershocks.

The Japanese speed of damage recovery is impressive. Photos on Twitter show a road that had literally been opened to the two, being delivered repaired to traffic in just 24 hours.

Authorities and companies, from semiconductor manufacturers to large automakers, are still trying to assess the extent of the damage.

Problems in supply chains will make things even worse internationally in the production of mobile phones, various types of electronic devices and cars.

Traffic on high-speed Xinxen trains has been suspended until recently, and at least one motorway has been closed for inspections.

The quake reminded many of the disaster of March 11, 2011 in the same area, in which 18,000 people lost their lives. Then the earthquake and tsunami that caused the devastation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Yesterday’s quake did not cause any damage to any of Japan’s nuclear power plants, although authorities said a fire alarm was triggered in one of the building’s damaged buildings.
