The Ukrainian parliament today adopted a decision confirming the legality of President Volodimir Zelenski, having failed to adopt it yesterday, Monday.

A clear majority 268 Members of Parliament They voted this time in favor of the decision plan. It took a total of 226 votes to adopt.

The draft decision had only received 218 votes yesterday during a special meeting of the Ukrainian Parliament, by Verchovna Randa, which was held in the presence of international guests to mark the third anniversary of the Russian invasion.

Fifty -four MPs, who were present in the room, had not taken part in yesterday’s vote, including 38 representatives of the Presidential Party of the People. Members did not reveal their reasons for this unexpected move.

The decision states, in the same wording as yesterday: ‘Verchovna Randa again reminds that its chairman Ukraine Volodimir Zelenski was elected with free, transparent, democratic elections. His command is not disputed by the Ukrainian people nor by Verchovna Randa

The document also states that Volodimir Zelenski will remain in power until a new elected president can take on, according to the Ukrainian Constitution.

Zelenski’s regular term expired in May, but elections cannot be planned because of the military law that has been in force for three years.

However, Russia has questioned Zelenski’s legitimacy. The United States is also increasingly pushing Ukraine to hold elections immediately after a ceasefire, which is under discussion.

“Election,” wrote in the meantime, with US President Donald Trump’s ally on the X social networking platform, commenting on the results of voting in parliament.
