The armed wing of the Kurdistan Labor Party, PKK, heard the call of the prisoner of former Abdullah leader Ocalan to deposit the weapons and declare an immediate ceasefire, as reported by the Kurdish News Agency.

This is an important step aimed at ending a 40 -year -old conflict with Turkey.

The organization said it hopes that Ankara would release Ocalan, who has been kept in complete isolation since 1999, so that it can lead a disarmament process, adding that the necessary political and democratic conditions must be created in order to achieve the process.

It is recalled that Abdullah Ocalan called on Wednesday the organization he himself created in 1978 to deposit his weapons and appealed to resolve the Kurdish issue in Turkey through “peace and democracy”.

Ocalan’s message was read in an interview with Constantinople by members of the enlarged delegation of the pro-Kurdish Peopian and Equality (DEM) Party (DEM) who visited him earlier on the island-prison of Imrali in Propontis, where he has been held for the last 26 years.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has described Ocalan’s historic step and opportunity to call the PKK members to disrupt the organization and deposit their weapons, ending the war with Turkey for 41 years.

“In Turkey’s 40 -year trial with terrorism, we encountered very serious difficulties. Terrorism aimed not only at the integrity of our state and the peace of our nation, but also our democracy, our economy and our politics. The threat of terrorism was used to blackmail politicians to manipulate politics in our country for many years, “Erdogan said, referring to the action of the PKK, which began his attacks on Turkish security forces in 1984.
