Cafeteria in Britain renames the type of coffee drink, from “Americano” to “Ukraino” in protest to Trump and support to Zelenski
A British owner of cafeteria changed in her shop menu the name of the “Americano” coffee beverage in “Ukraino”, in a protest move that he called “bullying” by US President Donald Trump to Ukrakani.
Helen Gregory, who runs the Seahorse Coffee Box on the coastal road in Siton Kariou, a seaside resort in eastern England, explained that she was renamed to support the Ukrainian president.
In a video she shared on social media, she replaced the word Americano on her menu with Ukraino.
“If you were outraged and annoyed by this ridiculous demonstration of bullying in the oval (office) the other day … so no longer Americano, we will call it ukraino from today.”
She urged other stores to follow her example.
As he told the Teesside Gazette news website, customers support her movement-complaint, adding: “I know she is not going to make a difference, but at least in my little corner I raise up.”
“Americano” was named during World War II, when US soldiers diluted strong espresso in Italy, making coffee taste more like what they knew in their home country.
