The leader of the Ukrainian Forces General Staff Anatoli Varkuilevsky was removed from the position taken by Andriy Gnatov
Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski replaced the Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, according to a decree published today, while Ukrainian forces are facing difficulties on the front and mainly in the Kursk region, where the Ukrainians are in the area.
Following statements by the leader of the Ukrainian Army Olxandr Sirski on Wednesday, according to which the Ukrainian forces are folding in the Kursk area, the Ukrainian retreat was confirmed by the Ukrainian Staff that were not published on the weekend.
The leader of the Ukrainian Forces General Staff Anatoly Varkielevchi was removed from the position taken by Andriy Gnatov, according to the Presidential Decree.
In a statement by the General Staff, it is clarified that General Gnatov is in charge of enhancing the “efficiency of vertical management” of military forces and in particular “reorganizing them in an army body and its implementation”.
It is also called upon to improve the “implementation” of the decisions of the staff of the Supreme Military Commander, President Volodimir Zelenski, and to contribute to the battle experience in the Armed Forces administration.
The Ukrainian forces, who have seen their number grow after the recruitment of the Russian invasion of February 2022, begin to organize themselves into an army.
The establishment of large units, consisting of many divisions (each consisting of 15,000 soldiers) will allow the coordination of forces that are sometimes deemed chaotic by experts.
On Facebook, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umero says he proposed the appointment of General Gnatov, who has 27 years of experience in the army. “We systematically reform the Ukrainian armed forces to enhance efficiency in battle.”
