Episodes and conflicts between demonstrators and police forces took place on its streets Constantinople and Ankara, where thousands of citizens gathered in order to protest To arrest Ekrem Imamoglou.

The protesters arrived in front of the police headquarters in Constantinople, protesting the detention of the city’s mayor.

The protesters were shouting slogans in favor of Imamoglou, arguing that government forces were “conducting a coup”.

Democratic Party: Erdogan abandoned democracy

President Tayyip Erdogan had been removed from the Republic announced the opposition party, the Republican People’s Party (CHP), reacting to the arrest of Ekrem Imamoglu.

Imamoglou, mayor of Constantinople, a politician who is considered Erdogan’s main opponent, was arrested today by police, just 24 hours before he was appointed a CP candidate for the presidency in the next 2028 elections.
