Zelenski stressed that “all nuclear factories belong to the people of Ukraine”, stating that they are state assets and continue to be paid by the Ukrainian state
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski denied that there was any discussion with US President Donald Trump during Wednesday’s telephone conversation on the ownership of the Zaporizia nuclear power plant or any other energy asset.
Asked about the possibility that the United States will gain control of the station, Zelenski stressed that “all nuclear factories belong to the people of Ukraine”, clarifying that they are state assets and continue to be paid by the Ukrainian state, even if it is ”

The Ukrainian president also referred to the factory cooling problems after the destruction of the Kahovka Dam, which, he said, has created “very serious technical challenges”.
Discarding any possible change of ownership of the station, he stressed that his discussion with Trump was “to find a solution to the recovery of the station by the Russians” and that the United States was examined in the upgrading or further development of the plant.
However, “the issue of ownership, we did not discuss it,” Zelenski clarified, adding that no mention was made to the other energy facilities of the country.
Crimea is Ukrainian Peninsula
Asked if he is ready to make territorial concessions to Russia, especially in terms of the recognition of Crimea, Volodimir Zelenski replied that “this is a Ukrainian peninsula.”
He added that he had discussed with US President Donald Trump about Ukrainians’ love for Crimea, stressing that it is a “indispensable part” of his country.
It is recalled that Crimea is internationally recognized as part of Ukraine, despite its occupation and supposed annexation by Russia in 2014.
The cancellation of NATO membership from the US will be “Great Gift in Russia”
Zelenski said the US decision to remove Ukraine’s accession to NATO from the table is a “big gift in Russia”, following the announcement of US officials who excluded the prospect of Kiev’s accession to the Alliance.
It is noted that NATO has 32 members in Europe and North America, of which 12 are founding and 20 countries have joined since 1949.
Russia has long been opposed to the idea of NATO’s integration into NATO, fearing that this will bring NATO forces very close to its borders. However, in 2008, the alliance said Ukraine could eventually join.
Volodimir Zelenski also said that he was not willing to discuss Ukraine’s neutrality or the withdrawal of the pursuit of NATO integration.
“I never said that I was ready to discuss Ukraine’s neutrality,” Zelenski said. “Putin didn’t even recommend it, he demanded it.”
He described Putin’s demands to reduce the Ukrainian army “ultimatum” and not as a proposal for the end of the war. “
