Russian President Vladimir Putin prayed for Donald Trump after his shot last year, US president’s special envoy Steve Witkov revealed on Friday.

According to Politico, Whitkov, who has visited Moscow twice to talk about the terms of the truce with Ukraine, told Tucker Carlson’s podcast, a former Fox News presenter, that during his second meeting with Putin, his Russian president told him when Last summer.

“When the president was shot, he went to his local church and met with his priest and prayed for the president.”Witten said about Putin.

Putin “prayed for his friend,” Witkov explained. He also added that he told this story to Trump, who was moved.

Last July, Trump, who was then a candidate for president, spoke to his supporters near the Butler, Pennsylvania, when he received a bullet dropped by 20 -year -old Thomas Matthew Cruks. A Kremlin spokesman then accused Trump’s political opponents of the shooting.

Whitkov also revealed that Putin had ordered a “beautiful portrait” of Trump by a Russian artist who had given Trump.

Trump has long expressed his admiration for Putin, calling him “genius” and “powerful leader”, among other flattering characterizations, resulting in critics accusing him of being “miserable” against the Kremlin.

Earlier this week, the two leaders spoke by phone for about two hours to discuss the end of Russia’s complete invasion of Ukraine, with Trump describing the conversation as “very good and productive”.
