Ukraine needs the “serious” contribution of European, ready -made soldiers, after the war with Russia and not a peacekeeping force, a Ukrainian official told the French Agency today.

“We do not need a simple presence (soldiers) to show that Europe is here,” said Igor Zofkfa, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski. “We don’t need peace missions,” he insisted. And “it is not the quantity of (the soldiers) that counts (…) but their willingness to fight, defend, be equipped and understand that Ukraine is an integral part of European security,” he added.

“Every soldier should be ready to get involved in a real battle. This is what Ukrainians have been doing for more than three years, “he continued.

The Ukrainian president’s adviser suggested that the European forces take over the border with Belarus in order to release Ukrainian soldiers who could develop in the most dangerous zones.

“We do not need an international presence in Lviv,” a city in Western Ukraine, far from the front line, he said.

Igor Zofkfa, 45, participated in the two rounds of negotiations with the Americans in Saudi Arabia. He spoke to the AFP before the new summit of the “alliance of the willingness” to be held tomorrow in Paris with the participation of many leaders who are ready to provide security guarantees in Ukraine.

According to a diplomatic source, more than 20 EU and NATO countries have been invited to this meeting, Britain, Canada, Norway and Turkey. French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to meet with Zelenski for bilateral talks.
