Its transitional president Syria Ahmed al -Sarah announced the formation of a new government on Saturday without prime minister. The government includes 23 ministers, including a woman.

In his speech on the presentation of the new government the Ahmed Al Sarahwho took over the reins of power on December 8th after the president was overthrown Bashar al -Assadhe expressed his will to build “a strong and stable state”.

Compared to the previous government figure, they remained in their positions the Foreign Minister Assad al -Sibani and the defense minister Mouraf Abu Kasra, close associates of the transitional president.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Hid Cambawat – which belongs to the Christian community of Syria – is the only woman in the cabinet.

Raed al -Saleh – head of the “white helmets” organization, a rescue team operating in areas that until the overthrow of Assad’s regime were controlled by replacements – was appointed Minister of Emergency Management and Disaster Management.

Ahmed al -Sarah has announced a five -year transitional period until elections, following the overthrow of the Assad regime, which ended in nearly 14 years of civil war in Syria.
