The autonomous Kurdish Administration that controls large areas in northern and northeast Syria today questioned the legality of the new government formed by the Islamist coalition that overturned Bashar al -Assad.

“The government announced (…) seems strongly like the previous one, as it still does not take into account the Syrian diversity,” he said in its statement. “A government that does not reflect the diversity and pluralism of the country cannot guarantee healthy management. Consequently, we do not believe that we are concerned with the implementation of the decisions coming from this government, “he added.

In his speech on Saturday, when he announced the government’s composition, Ahmad Al Sara said his intention was to build a “strong and stable state”.

The Council of Ministers consists of 23 ministers, most of whom are Sunni Arabs. Only one is a Kurd and he does not come from the territories controlled by the autonomous Kurdish administration. All key positions have been given to Sarah’s close associates.

The Kurdish administration agreed in mid -March to incorporate its institutions into the state. However, some analysts are afraid that this agreement will remain a “dead letter” because the Kurds, representing 15% of the population, had already criticized the constitutional proclamation that granted widespread powers to President Sarah for five years.
