The United States “will not acquire Greenland” which will decide itself its future, US President Donald Trump replied today the new Prime Minister of Danish autonomous territory, Yen-Frenterick Nielsen.

“President Trump says the US will acquire Greenland. We are clear: The US will not acquire Greenland. We don’t belong to anyone else. We decide on our future, “Nielsen said in a post on Facebook.

In an interview today on the NBC News television network, Trump reiterated that the US “will acquire Greenland, 100%”.

Danish Prime Minister Methe Fredericks will pay a three -day visit to Greenland this week to “enhance the unity” of the kingdom with the Arctic island.

Greenland’s main parties want the island’s independence, but disagree with how it will be done. US pressures persuaded them to ally, forming a four -party coalition government.
