China, Japan and South Korea have agreed to jointly respond to US duties, a social media account associated with Chinese state broadcasting station CCTV said Monday.

As Reuters reports, statements were made after the three countries carried out a “economic dialogue” on Sunday, seeking to facilitate regional trade as Asian export forces are preparing against US President Donald Trump duties.

Japan and South Korea seek to introduce semiconductor raw materials from China and China is also interested in buying products from Japan and South Korea, the Yuyuan Tantian account said in a Weibo post.

All three sides agreed to boost cooperation in the supply chain and to participate in further dialogue on export controls, the post said.

Country ministers met before Trump’s scheduled announcement on Wednesday for further duties.

Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo are important US trade partners, although they disagree with each other with issues such as territorial differences and the issue of sewage from Japan and the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant.
