A large fire has erupted in a building, near the courthouse, in the 17th district of Paris.

As the French firefighters summarize, the fire began with Boulevard de Douaumont, near the Paris Judicial Palace and the ring road.

According to Syctom, the organization that manages waste processing, the building that is burning “is a sorting center, where the yellow buckets, mainly paper, plastic and cardboard” arrive.

The above explains both the size and the evolution of the fire.

Still, according to the same source, more than “one hundred fires per year” occur in Syctom’s five sorting centers, “often due to lithium batteries, batteries, etc.”
