Remote areas of Greenland have lost access to basic satellite services, such as the Internet and telephone connections, according to a statement from the Arctic Island Telecommunications Group.

The interruption took place on Monday night, and the provider considers the possibility of being associated with the Blackout in Spain.

Tusass Telecommunications Company Greenland said in a statement that it had lost its connection to Spain -based satellite equipment and providing telephone, online, television and radio services.

At the moment there is no contact with our equipment in Maspaloma, Spain, from which we are largely dependent so that we can supply customers to the satellite area“, Tusass said in a statement.

The affected areas are remote settlements. It is not clear how many people were affected.

On Monday night, electricity began to be restored to areas of the Iberian Peninsula after the interruption that led to the most of Spain and Portugal.
