After seeing the military parade in France in 2017 for Bastille Day, he asked for an even greater event in Washington
Impressed by the military parade he watched in 2017 in Paris for Bastille Day, Donald Trump called for an even greater event in Washington as a birthday celebration.
At that time, his plans did not go – due to the high cost of tens of millions of dollars – but this year on June 14 (also a day of the establishment of the American flag, in 1775 and 250 years since the establishment of the US Army) perhaps his desire becomes a reality.
Indeed, it reinstated the issue and as it was not a request but a presidential mandate, preparations have already begun.
Thousands of soldiers, tanks and jumps with parachutes in design
The big military parade for Donald Trump’s birthday is projected to take place on Pennsylvania’s central avenue, with thousands of soldiers and hundreds of tanks and war helicopters.
According to blueprints and detailed plans that came in possession of AP, they show that the event will include seven army bands, parachutes and historical vehicles, followed by a concert and fireworks in the evening.
According to documents, more than 6,600 troops, 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters and more than 2,000 citizens will participate in the military parade.
Colonel Dave Butler said the army was excited about Trump plans.
“We want to make an event that the whole nation can celebrate with us,” Butler said. “We want the Americans to get to know the army and their soldiers. A parade can become part of it and we believe it will be an excellent addition to what we have already designed. ”
However, Army spokesman Steve Warren said no final decisions were made.
Other sources with the knowledge of the documents, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the plans have not been finalized, said that the Army’s plans for the parade have been presented and await the White House approval.
Trump himself, in a post on Truth Social on Thursday night, did not mention the grand plans of June 14, but wrote: “We will start celebrating our wins again!”
He also vowed to rename May 8, now known as the day of victory in Europe, to “Winning Day for World War II” and to change November 11, Veterans Day, to “Winning Day for World War I”.
