The ‘Alternative for Germany’ party is suing the Federal Service Protection of the Constitution
The “Alternative for Germany” party (AfD) appears, as it had announced, to justice against the Federal Protection Service (BFV), which now classifies it as “verified far -right” organization.
In a warning letter to the Service, the AfD had requested the deletion and correction of its classification by 8am today, stressing that, otherwise, it intended to move legally.
In order to speed up the procedure, it is calling for a provisional order in its lawsuit today, with which the party will stop being treated as a “verified far -right” organization, with what it entails on its media monitoring.
This classification allows the recruitment of informants, but also conditional monitoring of communications.
AFD also threatens the Federal Protection Service of the Constitution with a “fine of up to 10,000 euros for any possible violation” and argues that the BFV decision “has a negative impact on both the plaintiff and the democratic decision -making process itself”.
“With our lawsuit, we are sending a clear message against the abuse of state power to deal with and exclude the opposition. We will not allow a political tooling authority to attempt to distort democratic competition and to legitimize millions of votes for our voters. BFV’s actions are shameful, ”said Alice Videl and Tinos Khroupala party co -chairs.
The AFD lawsuit will be examined first by the Cologne Administrative Court, where the Federal Protection Office of the Constitution is also based.
