Russia has canceled this year’s parade for Victory Day in occupied Sevastopol in Crimea, according to a report by Kyiv Independent.

The Ukrainian medium says Sevastopol Governor Michael Razvosayev said that the May 9th parade dedicated to Soviet victory in World War II will not take place due to security fears.

It is noted that on May 9, Russia is making military parades to honor the end of World War II in Europe. Ukraine and most European countries honor the day of victory in Europe on May 8.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has stated that Ukraine cannot guarantee the security of foreign officials planning to attend the Russian May 9th parade in Moscow, warning that Russia could organize or organize provocations.
Zelenski added that Russia is responsible for security and protection within its territory.

The cancellation of the parade was followed by a alleged Ukrainian attack with a marine drone, which, according to reports, destroyed a Russian SU-30 fighter near the port of Novorossiksk on May 2 in an unprecedented operation, for which Ukrainian military intelligence reports. The fighter, worth $ 50 million, is said to have crashed into the sea.

Sevastopol, an important naval base in the Black Sea, has been under Russian occupation since 2014, when Moscow illegally attached Crimea to Ukraine.
