A man, who had been sentenced to the final of a woman’s murder in 1995, was executed by the granting of a deadly injection yesterday, Thursday, in Florida, in the southeastern US.

Glenn Rogers, 62, was executed in the Bradford County prison at 18:16 (local time, 01:16 Greek time), according to state authorities.

He had been convicted of the murder of 34 -year -old Tina Marie Crimers, a mother of two, whose corpse had been found in a hotel bathtub.

Rogers had been convicted of the rape and murder of another woman, 33 -year -old Sandra Galagger, also in 1995 in California.

At the same time, police suspected that he had committed other murders, including two women in the states of Mississippi and Louisiana.

This has been the 16th death of the US in the US since the beginning of the year. So far, 12 injection has been made, two with nitrogen inhalation – a controversial method used in Alabama in 2024 – and two with an executive excerpt in South Carolina, a method that had not been used in the US since 2010.

The death penalty has been abolished in 23 of the 50 US states. Five more (California, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Tennessee) have imposed a moratorium on executions following a decision by their ruler. Arizona had been imposed on the executions for two years, but the Attorney General of the State canceled in November 2024, with the state being executed this year.
