Mayor Ron Deharte informed the Los Angeles Times via SMS that it was “bomb in or near a vehicle parked in the building”, adding that there is a dead person.
“The FBI is on the ground and will conduct an investigation to determine if it was deliberate energy,” said Bill Esiley, a federal prosecutor responsible for the area, some 160 kilometers east of Los Angeles.
According to a report by ABC News, who cited sources in the classroom enforcement services, beyond the man who lost his life, five other people were injured.
The municipality said the explosion occurred shortly before 11:00 (local time; 21:00 Greek time).
California Governor Gavin Newsom was informed of the explosion, according to his services.
The Associated Press news agency reported that the clinic, with a distinctive title of American Reproductive Centers, suffered damage but its staff is “safe”, citing Dr. Macher Abdallah.
