Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski, during which a particular emphasis was placed on the continuation of the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia in Constantinople.
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency’s communication management, Mr Erdogan said Turkey was making active efforts for a fair and constant peace between Ukraine and Russia and welcomed the positive results of the talks held in Constantinople at Constantinople.
The Turkish president also said that a possible decision to cease fire in the second round of talks would be an important step towards peace. The aim is, he said, to maintain the momentum achieved in the negotiations process by ensuring the strong participation of delegations.
Finally, Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that a meeting of the leaders after the delegation talks would contribute to the peace process and said that these talks would have to take place without delay.
On Friday, May 30, the two -day visit to Ukraine of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was completed in the aftermath of a similar visit to Moscow, with the main purpose of peace at the Ukraine War.
The Turkish minister, in addition to consultation with his counterpart Andriy Sibicha, also had meetings with Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski and Defense Minister Rustem Umero, who was in charge of the Ukrainian delegation.
Earlier, Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had stated that Moscow was proposing to repeat the talks on June 2 and again in Constantinople.
