At least eight Palestinian workers of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), backed by the US, were in ambushed, GHF said on Thursday, accusing Hamas fighters of killings.

A bus carrying about 20 GHF employees was on fire on Wednesday night as it headed to a humanitarian aid center in southern Gaza, the Foundation said, adding that many of its staff were injured and some may have been abducted.

For its part, the local health authority said that 103 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire and 400 more injured in the last 24 hours across the enclave – including 21 people killed this morning near GHF facilities.

GHF’s ​​provisional director John Akri said the institution examined the possibility of closing its centers on Thursday after the bus attack, but eventually opted to remain open.

“We decided that the best response to Hamas’ cowardly assassins was to continue delivering food to the people of Gaza based on us,” he said in a statement.

Hamas refused to comment on the incident with the shots.

Gaza social media reported that Hamas had targeted the bus because it was allegedly transporting GHF employees associated with Yasser Abu Sababab, leader of a large faction who questioning Hamas’ superiority in the enclave.

In a post on his Facebook page, Abu Sabab, condemned the images posted on social media, which is supposed to show Gaza residents killed by Hamas, who seeks to maintain her power.

“Rumors of executions and murders are spread by Hamas’ corrupt, mercenaries and criminals in an attempt to sow fear in the hearts of those who seek change and liberation from terrorism, oppression and unjust rule,” he said.
