Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities may cause massive retaliation from Tehran and lead the region to total war, analysts and experts have long warned.
According to CNN analysis, if Israel and Iran are involved in a broader conflict, there is a risk of being seduced by the United States due to their long alliance with Israel and their role as a main weapon supplier.
Already in the beginning of the week, the first indications of this danger appeared, as the United States has ordered the departure of unnecessary staff from areas in the Middle East, citing increased information that an Israeli blow was imminent against Iran.
On Friday, Israeli officials said they were preparing for Iranian retaliation, declaring a special state of emergency across the country.
Fear is widespread both inside Israel and throughout the Middle East, as Israeli attacks lead the area to uncharted waters.
Iran maintains a so -called “axis of resistance” throughout the region, which includes faithful allies such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, Houthi in Yemen, as well as various paramilitary organizations in Iraq and Syria.
According to experts, an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities will probably mean the definitive end of negotiations with the United States.
Last year, the long -standing war between Israel and Iran broke out openly, with a series of direct missile wounds between the two countries.
At that time, the US had warned Israel not to hurt Iran’s energy or nuclear infrastructure, while Tehran had attempted to downplay the blows, responding with visually impressive but carefully calculated retaliation, which caused limited damage.
Friday’s attack by Israel is clearly more extensive as it hit the core of Iran’s nuclear and military mechanism. As CNN reports, Israel destroyed the main uranium enrichment unit in Natanz and killed General Josein Salami, leader of the Islamic Revolution (IRGC) guards, the Commander -in -Chief of the Guards of the Islamic Revolution, as well as the Brigade of the Islamic Revolution.
CNN security analyst Beth Senner said Salami’s extermination is equivalent to neutralizing the US Armed Forces leader: “You can imagine how the Americans would react,” he said.
She noted that Iran is now under an “existential threat” and, consequently, Israel expects “massively, much stronger retaliation than it saw the previous time.”
