Co-op will stop selling carrots from Israel and vodka from Russia, as the British food retail company interrupts its links with suppliers in countries with “internationally recognized” human rights violations and international law violations.
The company interrupts its transactions with suppliers in 17 countries accused of violating human rights and international law, according to a Financial Times report.
The group belonging to its members, which operates more than 2,300 food retail stores in Britain, said on Tuesday that it would remove a series of shelves from this month, after its members demanded Co-op to do whatever it can to “support and build it”.

This move comes after a series of big companies – from Goldman Sachs and Citigroup to Walt Disney and McDonald’s – which have mitigated or abolished their policies for diversity, equality and integration.
However, there were some exceptions, such as Microsoft, Apple and Costco, who defended and maintained their commitments. Last month, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream brand, known for her activism, described Israel’s actions in Gaza as a genocide.
